Lincoln Township Fire Department

The Lincoln Township Fire Department was established under the Police and Fire Protection Act, Public Act 33 of 1951.

It is owned by the residents of Lincoln Township, governed by the Lincoln Township Board, and managed by the Fire Chief.

The Township Board Oversees

  • Employing and appointing the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, and Captain
  • Developing explicit, written policies and monitoring compliance
  • Adopting an annual budget for the fire department
  • Passing fire-related ordinances
  • Determining the services provided to the community
  • Establishing special assessment districts to fund fire protection
  • Presenting extra-voted millage for fire protection before voters
